A Weekend in Seattle

Last weekend was amazing!

Curtis, Kingston, and I went to Seattle in celebration of our 6th wedding anniversary.

We left first thing on Friday morning, after dropping the truck off in Lynden to get some repairs done.

On the way to our hotel we stopped in at the University Village Mall and did some shopping for the kids at The Land of Nod and Pottery Barn Kids. Then we just kinda browsed around, and ended up going into Tall's Cameras to drool over look at a few cameras that we've been thinking about buying. We really liked the Nikon 300 (I think that's the number?) and wanted to play with it. Then we asked about the Sonys that were sitting there, and the guy showed us a really nice one, that did almost everything that the Nikon does, but for $1000 less! So, after playing with both cameras and getting a brochure on the Sony, we left, saying that we would think about it and maybe come back later.

We checked in to our hotel around 4 pm, and after getting all settled in, we went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. We had a very yummy meal and then bought a cheesecake to bring back with us to the hotel. Can I just say that it tasted HEAVENLY!?!?!?!

Our room was gorgeous! We didn't even feel like we were staying in a hotel, that's how nice it was! I highly suggest if you're going to go stay in Seattle that you check out the Hotel Sierra in Bellevue.

The next morning we went for the best complimentary continental breakfast ever! There was bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and pastries, and to top it all off, they do made-to-order omelets! SO GOOD! They also had good fruit juice and Starbucks coffee!

After our yummy breakfast we got into the car and went back to the University Village Mall and bought the Sony camera! We had talked it over and decided that we should just get it, especially while it was on sale. They had a great deal going on, and took $200 off the price, plus we got a free camera case and an extra battery!

With new camera in tow, we headed off to downtown Seattle. We did a fair bit of shopping (mostly for the kids) and then we walked down to Pikes Place Market. We had a lot of fun experimenting with our new camera, and here are some of the pictures we took:

That evening we went for dinner at The Red Lobster. Once again, a delicious meal! Curtis had the all-you-can-eat shrimp and I had a meal that had lobster and two kinds of shrimp. Mmmmmm! Just remembering that meal is making my mouth water! :)

We went back to the hotel and surveyed our new purchases, while drinking Starbucks coffee and eating the leftover cheesecake. Kingston thought the bags were alot cooler than what was inside them! Typical child, right?

My newest toy! I love this camera already! It's easy to use, takes great pictures and you can upgrade it at anytime by getting new lenses that do different things. This is the case and extra battery that came with it.

On Sunday morning we slept in, went for another scrumptious breakfast, and then just took our time getting ready to leave the hotel room. We decided that we should do a little sight-seeing, so we went to see Snoqualmie Falls. Here are a few more pictures that we took while we were there. (I hope I'm not overloading you with too many pictures!)

And there you have it! We had a wonderful time, but were happy to come home. Kendra did great with Bucky and Grampa, and though she kept saying that she wanted to stay longer every time we talked to her on the phone, she was so excited to see us when we went to pick her up. She of course loves all the new things we got for her, and her most favorite thing is her new Christmas dress. She's such a girl! :D

Uh-oh, little mister doesn't seem to want to stay asleep, so I should run!
